Taught by a professor, retired attorney, and coach, this Model United Nations program introduces students to the world of global diplomacy, international problem-solving, and structured debate. Students step into the role of real countries and learn how the United Nations operates by actively participating in simulations.
Built for Every Experience Level
The course is designed to be engaging and supportive, giving learners of all experience levels the confidence to explore global issues and practice diplomatic communication. Over the semester, students develop essential skills such as diplomacy, public speaking, research and writing, and collaboration while building a deeper sense of global awareness.
A Four-Phase Journey
The course is structured in four phases. In the opening weeks, students learn how the UN works, explore major world issues, and begin researching their assigned countries. Next they practice key skills such as speech delivery, debate, and diplomatic communication. They then move into drafting and negotiating resolutions, where they collaborate, compromise, and build alliances.
The Culminating Simulation
The final weeks culminate in a full Model UN simulation where students deliver speeches, debate solutions, negotiate amendments, and vote on resolutions in a professional, structured environment. Older students take this further, writing formal position papers, engaging in moderated and unmoderated caucuses, and drafting UN-style resolutions that reflect realistic, actionable solutions.
What Your Child Will Gain
By the end of the program, students will be able to represent a country accurately, deliver organized speeches with confidence, work collaboratively to solve complex problems, and understand how global issues affect different regions of the world. They leave with strengthened analytical abilities, improved public speaking skills, and a deeper understanding of international systems and global interdependence.
Thoughtful Global Citizens
Ultimately, this Model UN course encourages students to become informed, thoughtful global citizens capable of engaging with complex issues from multiple perspectives. It challenges them to think deeply, communicate effectively, and collaborate respectfully, skills that will serve them well in higher education, civic life, and future professional endeavors.
